National Neonatology Forum Organizes One of India’s Largest Synchronized Neonatal Resuscitation Training Initiatives

 Over 25,000 Healthcare Professionals Trained Across the Country in a Single Day 

New Delhi, May 10, 2026: Marking Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Day, the National Neonatology Forum (NNF) India organized a landmark nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening newborn survival and improving neonatal emergency care across the country. In one of the largest synchronized healthcare training efforts ever conducted in India, multiple large-scale, hands-on neonatal resuscitation training programs were held simultaneously across various states.

As part of this massive capacity-building initiative, more than 25,000 healthcare professionals underwent specialized neonatal resuscitation training in a single day. The initiative was designed to ensure that every newborn receives timely and effective resuscitation support immediately after birth — a critical step toward reducing infant mortality and improving neonatal survival outcomes in India.

The nationwide initiative was led under the guidance of Dr. Lallan Bharti, President, NNF India; Dr. Amit Upadhyay, Secretary, NNF India; Dr. Vikas Goyal, National Coordinator, NRP Day 2026; and Dr. Sharanya Manikraj, National Convener, NRP Day 2026.

In Delhi, the NRP Day initiative was coordinated by Dr. Surendra Bhist, President, AON (Delhi NNF State Branch); Dr. Anup Thakur, Secretary, AON; and Dr. Shekhar Biswas, JT Secretary, AON and State Coordinator – Delhi, NRP Day 2026.

Across the country, a total of 998 training courses were conducted, reaching healthcare providers not only in metropolitan cities but also in rural and geographically challenging regions. In Delhi alone, NRP Day was celebrated across more than 50 centres, where over 1,400 healthcare professionals received specialized neonatal resuscitation training.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Dr. Shekhar Biswas, JT Secretary, AON and State Coordinator – Delhi, NRP Day 2026 said, “Newborn mortality continues to remain a major public health challenge in India. A significant proportion of neonatal deaths occur due to the inability of babies to establish breathing at birth. The first few minutes after birth are extremely critical, and timely intervention by trained healthcare providers can prevent many of these avoidable deaths. Simple, evidence-based skills that help babies breathe at birth can make the difference between life and death. Recognizing this urgent need, NNF India conceptualized and executed this large-scale nationwide initiative to strengthen neonatal care capacity across the country.”

In North Delhi, NRP Day training programs were conducted at several prominent healthcare institutions, including Jaipur Golden Hospital, Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, Max Super Speciality Hospital Shalimar Bagh, Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh, and Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital.

At Jaipur Golden Hospital, the course was coordinated by Dr. Meenakshi, while the instructors included Dr. Shekhar Biswas, Dr. Prachi Patwal, and Ms. Jamia Jahanara. At Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital, the course coordinator was Dr. Vimal Kumar Nag, and the instructors included Dr. Mugdha Anand, Dr. Vikas Dabas, Dr. Vimal Kumar Nag, and Dr. Vijay Kumar Aggarwal.

The hands-on training sessions were conducted completely free of cost and saw participation from healthcare professionals belonging to both government and private healthcare institutions. This inclusive approach ensured wider outreach and uniform strengthening of newborn care practices across the healthcare ecosystem.  

NNF India played a pivotal role in providing end-to-end support for the planning, coordination, standardization, and execution of the training programs across all participating centres, thereby ensuring consistency and quality in skill delivery.

This synchronized nationwide initiative is expected to set a record for conducting the highest number of neonatal resuscitation skill trainings in a single day, marking a historic milestone in India’s ongoing efforts to improve newborn survival and strengthen neonatal healthcare services.

रोबोटिक सर्जरी से प्रोस्टेट कैंसर इलाज हुआ ज्यादा सुरक्षित और सटीक

पटना: भारत में प्रोस्टेट कैंसर पुरुषों को प्रभावित करने वाले शीर्ष दस कैंसरों में शामिल हो चुका है। वर्ष 2025 तक देश में 14 लाख से अधिक नए कैंसर मामलों का अनुमान है, और यह आंकड़ा किसी भी परिवार के लिए चिंता और डर पैदा कर सकता है जो डॉक्टर के सामने बैठा हो। लेकिन आज प्रोस्टेट कैंसर की कहानी सिर्फ डर तक सीमित नहीं रह गई है।

मैक्स स्मार्ट सुपर स्पेशलिटी हॉस्पिटल, साकेत के यूरोलॉजिकल ऑन्कोलॉजी और रोबोटिक सर्जरी विभाग के एसोसिएट डायरेक्टर डॉ. तुषार आदित्य नारायण ने बताया “रोबोट दरअसल सर्जन के हाथों का ही एक एक्सटेंशन होता है, उससे ज्यादा कुछ नहीं। इसे ऐसे समझें जैसे सर्जन ने ऐसे ग्लव्स पहन रखे हों जो मानव कलाई से कहीं ज्यादा लचीलापन और मूवमेंट दे सकते हैं। डॉक्टर कुछ दूरी पर एक कंसोल पर बैठकर हर मूवमेंट को रियल टाइम में कंट्रोल करता है। जैसे ही सर्जन रुकता है, रोबोट भी रुक जाता है। इसमें न कोई ऑटोमैटिक निर्णय होता है और न ही कोई अंदाजा। करीब दस साल पहले प्रोस्टेट सर्जरी का मतलब होता था बड़ा चीरा, ज्यादा ब्लड लॉस और अस्पताल में लगभग एक हफ्ते तक भर्ती रहना। आज वही सर्जरी बेहद छोटे छेदों के जरिए की जाती है, जो एक छोटे बटनहोल जितने होते हैं। शरीर जल्दी ठीक होता है क्योंकि उसे कम नुकसान पहुंचता है।“ 

इस बदलाव की असली पहचान चीरे के आकार से नहीं, बल्कि उन हिस्सों से है जिन्हें सर्जन सुरक्षित रख पाता है। प्रोस्टेट के आसपास बेहद नाजुक नर्व्स होती हैं जो ब्लैडर कंट्रोल और सेक्सुअल हेल्थ को प्रभावित करती हैं। पहले इन नर्व्स को बचाना लगभग असंभव था, और कई मरीज कैंसर से तो ठीक हो जाते थे लेकिन अपनी जीवन गुणवत्ता का एक अहम हिस्सा खो देते थे।

फैटी लिवर को नजरअंदाज ना करें, समय रहते उठाएं सही कदम

ग्वालियर: फैटी लिवर आजकल एक बहुत आम समस्या बन चुकी है, जो अक्सर किसी अन्य पेट की जांच के दौरान अल्ट्रासाउंड में अचानक सामने आती है। भारत में भी इसके मामले तेजी से बढ़ रहे हैं और अनुमान है कि हर तीन में से एक व्यक्ति इस समस्या से प्रभावित हो सकता है। फैटी लिवर कई कारणों से हो सकता है, जिनमें शराब का सेवन, मेटाबॉलिक डिसफंक्शन से जुड़ा फैटी लिवर (MASLD) और लिवर के वायरल संक्रमण जैसे हेपेटाइटिस बी और सी प्रमुख हैं।

अगर अल्ट्रासाउंड में फैटी लिवर का पता चलता है, तो घबराने की जरूरत नहीं है, लेकिन इसे नजरअंदाज करना भी गलत है। शुरुआती अवस्था में यह पूरी तरह ठीक हो सकता है, लेकिन समय रहते ध्यान न देने पर यह लिवर में सूजन, फाइब्रोसिस, सिरोसिस और कुछ मामलों में लिवर कैंसर तक बढ़ सकता है। साथ ही यह डायबिटीज, हृदय रोग और स्ट्रोक जैसी बीमारियों का खतरा भी बढ़ाता है। इसलिए जरूरी है कि मरीज किसी विशेषज्ञ, जैसे हेपेटोलॉजिस्ट से सलाह लें, जो ब्लड टेस्ट और फाइब्रोस्कैन जैसे सरल टेस्ट के जरिए बीमारी की सही स्थिति का आकलन कर सकते हैं। 

डॉ. विकास ने आगे बताया “फैटी लिवर में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह नहीं है कि लिवर में फैट है या नहीं, बल्कि यह है कि क्या उसमें स्कारिंग (फाइब्रोसिस) शुरू हो गई है। फाइब्रोस्कैन एक आसान और नॉन-इनवेसिव टेस्ट है, जिससे लिवर में फैट और फाइब्रोसिस की मात्रा का पता लगाया जा सकता है। शुरुआती अवस्था में सही इलाज और देखभाल से इसे नियंत्रित किया जा सकता है। इसके इलाज की बुनियाद बहुत सरल लेकिन प्रभावी है—वजन कम करना, खासकर पेट की चर्बी घटाना, नियमित व्यायाम करना और मेटाबॉलिक जोखिम कारकों को नियंत्रित करना। सिर्फ 5% वजन कम करने से लिवर में फैट घट सकता है, 7% तक वजन कम करने से सूजन में सुधार आता है और 10% या उससे अधिक वजन कम करने से कुछ मामलों में फाइब्रोसिस भी रिवर्स हो सकता है। जिन मरीजों में केवल लाइफस्टाइल बदलाव से सुधार नहीं होता, उनके लिए नई दवाओं के विकल्प भी उपलब्ध हैं।“ 

भारत में फैटी लिवर को लेकर सोच बदलने की जरूरत है। यह कोई छोटी समस्या नहीं, बल्कि शरीर का एक शुरुआती चेतावनी संकेत है। बेहतर खान-पान अपनाएं, नियमित रूप से सक्रिय रहें, पेट की चर्बी कम करें, पर्याप्त नींद लें, शराब का सेवन सीमित करें और समय-समय पर डायबिटीज व कोलेस्ट्रॉल की जांच कराएं। यदि आपकी रिपोर्ट में फैटी लिवर आया है, तो डरने की नहीं, बल्कि तुरंत सही कदम उठाने की जरूरत है और विशेषज्ञ से सलाह लेना सबसे पहला कदम होना चाहिए।
